The director of PF Ukraine Vyacheslav Kogut, together with the Deputy Minister of Justice Olena Vysotska and the Deputy Chief for the Execution of Criminal Punishments Natalia Rybalka visited the alternative prison for juveniles “Seehaus” in Leonberg, Germany.
The Ukrainian delegation met with the director of the prison, Tobias Merckle, and got to know a family that raises juvenile convicts together with their children. They talked about their work and implemented lifestyles in more detail.
As part of the visit, they discussed the issue of alternative types of punishment, including the “Seehaus” program and the ARAS method, aimed at developing life skills without crimes among juvenile convicts.
Seehaus, an alternative juvenile prison, aims to teach responsibility through Restorative Justice, create a positive environment and prepare for a crime-free future.
The meeting was also attended by the partner of the Ukrainian mission – the director of Fundația Prison Fellowship Romania – Fundație de Utilitate Publică Andrei Brie and friends from the PFI Office – Hugh Greathead, Cristina Ursachila and Max Brockmeyer.
