The Ukrainian Christian mission “Spiritual and charitable support in places of deprivation of liberty” has been working on the territory of Ukraine for 22 years. The ten largest Christian denominations united to carry out prison ministry.
Servants of religious communities regularly conduct pastoral work among prisoners. Charity concerts and Bible study lessons are also organized in correctional institutions. In addition to spiritual work, prison chaplains provide institutions with humanitarian aid in the form of food, hygiene products, generators and other necessary items.
Over the past year, the Mission has started a program of renovation of premises in correctional institutions. At the moment, 16 premises of various Institutions are being overhauled with complete furniture renewal.
